What is TeeRead?
TeeRead is an innovative reading platform that automatically
assesses students’ reading fluency and comprehension, while also
providing students with a library of books personalized at each
student’s reading level.
What benefit would I get from using TeeRead?
Not only will you get access to students’ reading fluency and
comprehension reports, showing metrics such as WCPM, WPM, and
miscue analysis, but you can also assign reading practice from
our library of books leveled to each student’s reading ability.
Other cool features that you will find in TeeRead are the
ability to group your students, edit reports and see the books
that your students are loving.
How does TeeRead work?
TeeRead uses a combination of speech recognition and literacy
best practices to create the reports that you will see for your
students and to match them with the books that they should be
reading. We are not re-inventing the wheel; we are just doing
what you wished you had time to do, using the latest technology
on AI and speech recognition.
What information can I get from TeeRead?
You will get reports showcasing the major fluency and
comprehension metrics, including:
- Reading grade level
- Words per minute
- Accuracy rate
- Words correct per minute
- Reading comprehension questions
- Passage's Lexile level
How do I sign up to TeeRead?
Signing up is super easy!
- Download/setup app:
- Answer our short questionnaire to personalize TeeRead to you.
- Answer our short questionnaire to personalize TeeRead to you.
- Add your students using Google Classroom or manually.
- You will receive an email from us with your students’ unique TeeRead codes along with a template email to send to parents and guardians.
How long does it take to set up TeeRead?
Setting up TeeRead takes minutes. It’s so easy that we bet a
fifth-grader could do it for you!
How do I add my students to TeeRead?

Google Classroom:
- When you set up your account, you’ll get asked to import your students with Google Classroom
- Tap/click on “Import from Google Classroom.”
- You will be asked to sign into your Google account
- Select your preferred Google account and tap/click accept
- That’s it! Your students will be imported into your TeeRead classroom

Manually: It’s super simple
- Go into the “Students” tab
- Tap or click “Edit”
- Type your student’s name
- Press Enter
- Repeat for all your students
How do I help my students to log in?
Once you sign up and add your classroom (you can use Google
Classroom, yay!), you will get an email with a list of unique
codes for each student, along with a template email to send to
their parents to help them download the app and sign in.
How can I see my students’ progress?
You can check on your students’ progress in seconds!
- Go into TeeRead for teachers
- Tap on the student’s tab
- Search for your student’s name
- Tap on it
- Voila! You can see your student’s profile.
How can I see which students have done the assigned readings?
- Go into the Classwork tab
- Search for the assignment, and tap on it.
- You will be able to see the list of students that you assigned readings to. Right next to each student’s name, you will see an icon. The students that have done the reading homework will have a green checkmark.
How do I assign an assessment to my students?
*Remember that your students get a request to do an assessment
automatically according to the frequency you determined when you
first signed up to TeeRead.
- Go into Classwork.
- Press on the blue plus icon, and then press on “New Classwork.”
- Select the “Fluency assessment” option.
- Select the date you want the assessments to happen.
- Finally, assign students; you can pick specific students or assign the assessment to the entire class.
- That’s it! Just press save changes, and your students will automatically get a notification to do the assessment on the day you chose.
How do I assign reading homework?
- Go into Classwork.
- Press on the blue plus icon, and then press on “New Classwork.”
- Select the “Reading practice” option.
- Select the date you want the assessments to happen.
- Finally, assign students, you can pick specific students or assign the assessment to the entire class.
- That’s it! Just press save changes, and your students will automatically get a notification to do the assessment on the day you chose.
